How much does landscaping cost in Sydney? (2026 guide)
15 January 2026

One of the first things clients ask me is 'how much is this going to cost?'. It's a fair question, and here's how I answer it honestly.
A basic tidy-up or one-off garden reset in Sydney usually sits between $600 and $2,500 depending on the size of the block and how overgrown things are. Ongoing maintenance programs generally run $80 to $180 per visit, with fortnightly the most popular for family homes.
New lawn installs (Sir Walter or Kikuyu) tend to fall between $35 and $60 per square metre laid, including prep and top-dressing. If you're pulling out an old lawn and re-levelling, add for the strip-out.
Full landscape design and build is where it varies most. A small courtyard reno might land around $18,000–$35,000. A larger family garden with paving, retaining, planting and irrigation more typically sits $60,000–$150,000+. Estate work runs well beyond that.
